– Saliva in natura: collect 1.0 mL of saliva by aspiration, using a disposable syringe (without needle) in cases of children or disabled patients, or simply ask the patient to let the mouth accumulate saliva, disposing it in the collection bottle.

– The use of 1 or 2 drops of lemon stimulates salivation, making it easier to obtain the sample.

– Collect the saliva in a proper tube. 

Important:

– 1. for a period of 30 minutes before the collection, no food or drink of any kind will be allowed.

– 2 – Immediately before the collection is advisable to rinse the mouth with water through light mouth rinses.

– 3) Collection is not recommended in case of oral lesions with active or potential bleeding.

– 4. avoid brushing your teeth at least two hours before collection to prevent gingival bleeding.

– If the sample is collected with the aid of cotton, place the cotton under the tongue and wait an average period of 2 to 3 minutes so that the cotton is soaked. If you prefer, you can chew the cotton slightly, keeping it soaked in saliva as much as possible. During this collection period, no water, food or any other type of liquid may be ingested. The sample in a satisfactory quantity must soak the cotton with saliva. Return the cotton into the hanging container, closing the lid immediately afterwards. 7.
