Technical Information:  NK cells are non T-non B lymphocytes, with functions associated with innate immunity, having no immunological memory. They have important functions in controlling infections by intracellular pathogens and in fighting tumor cells. Functional defects are not identified by quantitative techniques. It is stressed that primary NK cell dysfunctions are uncommon conditions and altered values should be confirmed, at appropriate intervals, on suspicion of pre-analytical interfering factors. Indication: Infertility.
