NEOBONA, PRENATAL GENETICS (NIPT)

Collection Instr. …………:   Fasting not required.

Performed from the 10th week of gestation on. Includes fetal sexing.

It can be performed in twin pregnancies.

Collection only from Mondays to Thursdays, except on eve of holidays.

Appointment necessary.

Technical information: Prenatal screening tests are mainly for identification of the most frequent chromosomal alterations, such as chromosome 21, which causes Down Syndrome. There are four profiles, and for twin pregnancies, only the simplest one, which contemplates the most common trisomies (13,18,21) is indicated.

The more complete profiles, besides investigating a greater number of genetic alterations, also offer fetal sexing, but can only be performed in pregnancies of a single fetus.
