FECAL ANTIGEN TESTING

Collection Instr. …………: Before collecting the stool, if necessary, urinate in the toilet to avoid contamination of the material;

Avoid the use of laxatives, digestive substances, oral contrast and suppository in the three days preceding collection;

Defecate in a clean, dry container/pot/bowl to later transfer a sample of feces into the bottle supplied by the laboratory. 

Technical information: Suggestion: look in the tests menu: Immunological and/or PCR search for fecal antigens, such as Giardia, Entamoeba, Rotavirus and multidrug-resistant Clostridium difficile. 

Differential diagnosis of the causative agent enables targeted treatments and interruption of patient discomfort in the shortest possible time. Immunological and PCR analysis ensures greater accuracy than the commonly used parasitological technique, and provides faster diagnosis.
