Technical information: Prostate cancer is a malignant alteration, which presents accelerated growth and high infiltration power, leading to the occurrence of metastases, in case of late diagnosis, or progression of localized disease. The 4Kscore is a blood test that incorporates four prostate protein biomarkers, along with clinical patient information, to determine the risk of high-grade and aggressive prostate cancer (Gleason ≥7). Additionally, the 4Kscore test allows to assess the risk of high-grade prostate cancer and whether or not digital rectal examination data is available. Therefore, patients with suspected aggressive prostate cancer can safely have their risk better defined by the 4Kscore test, even if the digital rectal examination has not been performed recently.
